Required suffix in the business name:
- For Corporations:
Must end with either “Corporation”, “Incorporated”, “Company”, “Limited”, “Association”, “Church”, “College”, “Club”, “Foundation”, “Fund”, “Institute”, “Society”, “Union”, “University”, “Syndicate” or an abbreviation of one of such words. - For LLC
Must end with either “Limited Liability Company”, “Limited Company”, “L.L.C.”, “L.C.”, “LLC, “LC”, “Company”, “Association”, “Club”, “Foundation”, “Fund”, “Institute”, “Society”, “Union”, “Syndicate”, “Limited” or “Trust”.
LLC name can also contain the name of the member or manager.
Prohibited words:
- Language falsely indicating or implying the business is organized for an impermissible purpose
- An LLC cannot end with “Corporation”, “Corp”, “Co” etc.
- LLC name cannot include “Corporation”, “Incorporated”, “Company”, or “Limited”.
